Thanks for your interest in joining the volunteer team that supports and makes the Marathon possible. Below is a list some of the volunteer positions and duties. If you are interested please send an email to our volunteer coordinator with your interests and contact information.
CHOICE OF DUTIES FOR VOLUNTEERS
REGISTRATION
- Process entry forms from runners
- Issue pre-registration packets
- Help issue timing chips (on race day)
- Issue race numbers
- Issue runners T-shirt
- Help in selling San Antonio Marathon Merchandise
- 9 AM to 6 PM on Saturday, November 10, 2007 (Shift work)
START LINE
- Help assemble runners at Start Line
- Guide runners to clothing turn-in station
- Guide runners to port-o-potties

RACE COURSE
- Help at water stations
- Call out times at mile markers
- Course marshal to guide runners at key turning points

FINISH LINE
- Tear off numbers / pull tabs
- Issue medallions to all finishers
- Issue commemorative shirts to marathon finishers
- Assist runners needing medical attention to medical station
- Assist runners to water and snack tables
- Issue fruit and food items to finishers
- Assist at awards ceremony
- Act as runner from Alamodome timing station to posting location in the Awards tent.

AWARDS PRESENTATION
- Assist in presentation of trophies

START & FINISH line activities on Race Day, Sunday November 11, 2007; begin as early as 6 A.M. and last until 1:30 P.M. at north side of the Alamodome. Parking for volunteers is at Parking Lot C with entrance from Cherry Street (on East side of Alamodome)
RACE COURSE activities on Race Day are throughout the entire 26.2 mile marathon course
